jora.tech was founded to bring years of research in data-driven process optimization into real production environments. Our mission is to help manufacturers make complex extrusion lines more efficient, stable and sustainable.
The founders of jora.tech: Joachim Komar and Raphael Hartner.
Our origin
Joachim Komar and Raphael Hartner first met in 2018 at FH JOANNEUM in Kapfenberg, where both worked at the Institute of Industrial Management and helped build the Smart Production Lab. Their collaboration connected data-driven process research with the practical realities of industrial production.
After four years, Raphael continued in academia and deepened his work in data-driven process optimization through a PhD, while Joachim moved into innovation management at a leading engineering company in the pharmaceutical industry. When their paths crossed again, they shared a clear objective: combine scientific rigor, industrial experience and entrepreneurial execution in one company.
Our mission
We enable self-optimizing extrusion by connecting prediction directly to action. jora.twin predicts process behavior and can feed optimized set points back into the line’s control system – stabilizing quality while reducing material and energy consumption. Predefined operating limits and operator oversight provide the framework for autonomous optimization.

2021 - 2025
The FFG- and industry-supported DEEPEN research project begins, laying the methodological foundation for hybrid AI models in industrial extrusion. Raphael and Joachim begin developing the idea behind jora.tech alongside their full-time roles.
Fall 2025
jora.tech is founded to bring predictive process optimization into industrial operation. In our first week as a company we attend the K 2025, the largest plastics trade fair in the world.
Spring 2026
jora.twin is selected to receive aws Deep Tech Preseed funding.
Summer / Fall 2026
The team grows, platform development progresses and preparations are underway for jora.tech’s first large trade fair booth at FAKUMA 2026. We are actively contributing to industry and startup communities (SKZ, KC, Green Tech Valley, etc.)
2027 · Planned
The first major public version of jora.twin is planned for release.
